The Ash Tree Inn is just outside the village of Barkston Ash which lies about 2 miles north of Sherburn in Elmet, and about 5 miles from Tadcaster on the A162. The tree which is growing nearby in the central verge at the junction to the village of Barkston Ash is supposed to be the very centre of Yorkshire.
